Romans 1:16, states, For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, for it is the POWER of God unto salvation to every one who believes; to the Jew First and also to the Greek.
Paul makes his relationship and commitment to God of personal affect demonstrating his present attitude toward Christ. By doing so, he lets his audience know that his testimony is of what God has already done and the Preaching of the Gospel exposes Christ for who He is and what He has done through His death, burial and resurrection.
Therefore, the preaching of the Gospel must not be confounded with human wisdom otherwise, it loses its essential power. Human wisdom deals primarily with reasoning and has its place but, the Gospel deals with revelation through the Power of the Holy Spirit. It is what gets you through hard times!
Paul states, “and I brethren when I came to you came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom declaring unto you the testimony of God. And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in the demonstration of the Spirit and of Power, that your Faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the Power of God” (1 Corinthians 2:1; 4, 5).
Paul was advocating that Faith in the spoken Word of Christ has its own philosophy and is the basis for Salvation and Transformation in the life of the believer. The Word of God is the answer for the need of man. It is the demonstration and revelation of God in the life of believers.
“But, seek you first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33). Philippians 4:19, states, “but my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in Glory by Christ Jesus.”
Therefore, the focus of preaching, praise and worship should be to give Glory to God and not seeking how you can get your need met. God will meet your need if only you would give Him the Glory and Praise. God will always give you the assurance that you need through the revelation of His Word. There is a Word for today’s problem and a fix for that which has troubled you over a long period of time and it comes from hearing the Word of God.
Seek more of His Word on a daily basis and give Him Glory for what He has already done and you will find the answers that you need. Psalms 34:1, I will bless the Lord at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth. Vs. 19, states, “Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.”
Have Faith in the Preached Word and the Word will fulfill your need! Remember, your worship should be about giving Glory to God and not what you want or need. Your needs are supplied as you seek His Glory!
